Priority Date: June 20, 2006
I-485 filing date: July 17th, 2007
Paper based EAD application Received date: Aug 8th, 2008
LUD : Aug 12th, 2008
Card Production Ordered : Aug 16th, 2008
That was pretty quick.
Funny part is, I haven't received receipt notice yet.

I came here in 2000 and applied for GC in 2003(Nothing much Happened to it). Moved to different Company in March 2005 and applied for GC before PERM started. After that Applied for RIR conversion in JAN 2007 and my bad luck, the Labor did not get cleared before Auguat 17th and Company did not apply in PERM and Almost all of them got EAD and i am left behind. I am in this country for close to eight Years and not even signs of EAD.
On top of it, I applied H1b for my Wife this year and the quota was over on the first Day. She has PHD in Computer-science and did not get H1. What a mess ? And what kind of life i am leading here...
Thinking of all these things, I feel so frustated...
I am just waiting for PD to be 2005 and then apply for I-485 ? (Sucks Man..)
I am the worst Unluckiest Person on this whole earth....

On August 12, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service.
Only catch for us is that we are moving next weekend!! I am going to do change of address with USCIS immediately, but in the meanwhile what if they mail documents to my old address? Any suggestions?
Also whats ADIT.

Now you see the amount spent by IV for lobbying in the Senate documents. Please do the total and let me know how much is that amount. I am not "highly skilled" like you, so I can't calculate?

Its good for the backlog. One way to reduce the backlog if there is no bill is to encourage people to leave USA for 'green grass'. If they leave, we get our green card soon and grass will become green for us.

I agree whole-heartedly.
Senators/Congressmen are rational, smart and intelligent people. We HAVE to apprise them of our situation.
We have a legitimate, common sense and good cause on our side.
In this time of globalization and increased competition, do the senators/congressmen really want this country to lose half a million highly skilled, experienced and trained-in-America-for-years people to India and China, and to Europe and canada?
If they put 'holds' or refuse to take up our cause after they are fully aware of our situation, then atleast you know that they are doing it out of racism and/or narrow political and parochial motives.
But unless we make our situation known to these guys, we shouldn't really blame them.......Also, those with kids born in America might get more of a response from the legislators.
It is pathetic that there is a thread from NJ, and the guy is begging people to join/respond; it is mind-boggling that there are only seven members from NJ. It is absolutely ridiculous that the only two responses on the 'Calling all Wisconsin members' have been from myself, and another person. And that other person is from Illinois......
Can there be any guidance from the core team about personalizing our stories, and making those known to the legislators?

I am in exact same situation too. The notice date for EAD renewal is July 7th, 2008. I-485 pending at NSC and EAD applied at TSC. Still waiting. I am current as my PD is EB-2 India 9/2004.
Same with me. 485 pending at NSC, EAD pending at TSC - as per instructions in I765. NO Luds, just silence.

No, we have not tried calling yet. Both are on H1, so just have EAD for just peace of mind. Do let us know what you hear from the customer service.

If US employer agrees to retain you as a consultant working from India. Can one continue to work for US employer on Indian salary as a consultant employed by Indian consulting firm? As a consultant we can come for a 3 month visit on B1/B2 and continue family life in India. Do you see any issues here?

Do we have any reference to say it is unconstitutional ? If EB country cap is unconstitutional, FB cap would be unconstitutional too.
IMO this entire country cap rule has racist intent. If the caps were to promote diversity, the cap should be based on ethnicity of US population (ctizens and GC holders). Are Indians and Chinese a a mjority in this country ? No.

My case was received by NSC on JUN 1st. They issued the recipt numbers on JUN 5th. I am still waiting on my wifes. They could clear on Monday.. Looks like NSC is also trying to speed up things. They are just one day slower than TSC in issuing recepts.
